You Can Cure Your High Blood Pressure

blood pressure3Approximately 6.3 million South Africans are being treated for high blood pressure, also known as hypertension. Those numbers are shocking but what is even more shocking than those numbers is that most of those being treated for high blood pressure can cure themselves of the condition simply by changing their lifestyle a little.

When we talk about blood pressure we are talking about the amount of pressure that gets exerted against your vessel walls as the heart pumps blood through your veins. When your heart needs to work hard in order to pump the blood through the arteries (causing high blood pressure), this results in the hardening of your arteries, an extreme case of which will result in heart failure.

High blood pressure is caused by a number of factors the most common being;

• Too much salt usage
• Stress
• Smoking
• Obesity
• Diet
• Lack of physical exercise
• Genetics
• Excessive alcohol consumption

How to cure your high blood pressure:

With the exception of genetics we can influence all of the other causes of high blood pressure. Here are the ways you can cure your high blood pressure.

Smoking

Stop smoking immediately, this is probably one of the most dangerous habits.

Exercise

Start exercising on a daily basis. Exercising will help you lose weight and the weight loss will relieve the stress on your heart.

Eat healthily

Your dietary habits and the amount of vitamins and minerals you consume are vital in curing your high blood pressure. One of the reasons why so many people suffer from hypertension is because they consume large quantities of fast food or foods which are not whole and fresh. These foods contain hidden salts as well as sugars and as you well know salt is a no, no for those who are trying to get their blood sugar levels in check.

Reduce stress

There are ways of looking at situations which will result in stress reduction. We cannot control everything that happens around us but we can control the way we react to those things. Either change the situation or walk away or find peace with it. Nothing is worth your life.
