Set goals to help you cope with stressful situations and help fight your depression


Every person with depression have issues they need to confront and deal with. Simply focusing on the body will not help to get rid of your depression. Although every person’s situation is different, you can try these steps to help you confront your problems.


Keep a journal

Penning down your thoughts are a great way of expressing your feelings and thinking about it, thus confronting the issue. Try to end every journal entry with a solution to your problem and when doing your next journal entry, go back and see whether you were able to implement that solution.


Join a support group

Even though you don’t think so, a lot of people out there have similar problems to yours. By joining a support group you can get insights from other people who overcame these issues. Who knows, you can even be the one that ends up helping someone else in the same situation.


Plan your goals

Set your self short-, medium- and long-term goals. Having goals are a great way to organise your life and knowing that you are working towards a reward. A lot of times depression sets in because we tend to forget why we do what we do on a daily basis. If you have clear goals, you have a reason to get up in the morning and take on the world.
